Compliance Requirements for Email Campaigns
If your organization has compliance oversight enabled for email, campaigns you create will go through a review process before they can be sent.
How Compliance Review Works
When you schedule an email campaign, it is automatically sent to your compliance team for review. The campaign enters a compliance hold and will not send until it is reviewed and approved.
Because all email campaigns must go through this approval process, the “Send Now” option is disabled. However, you can choose “Send Immediately Once Approved” if you’d like your campaign to be delivered as soon as compliance approval is granted.
What Happens Next
✅ If Approved
- The campaign is released from compliance hold.
- If scheduled, it will send at the designated date and time. If “Send Immediately Once Approved” was selected, it will send as soon as approval is granted.
❌ If Not Approved
The campaign will not send.
For individual campaigns:
- Compliance may request changes.
- Your account manager will update the campaign and resubmit it for review.
For drip campaigns:
- Compliance can only approve or deny.
- If denied, the campaign must be recreated or revised before resubmission.
- If approval is not granted before a scheduled send time, the campaign is automatically withdrawn.
